Cynthia BArber
Cynthia Barber Gale founded BarberGale in 1993 as a sole proprietorship, and in 2000 BarberGale was incorporated in Pennsylvania, electing Benefit Corporation status in January 2013. She has been working in the business and art of graphic design for over 30 years. Cynthia now serves as President and Creative Director, while also wearing the hats of existing and new business cultivation and marketing. Over the years, she has developed BarberGale's Brand Equals Pattern process and the Branding Grid tools.
Cynthia is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, College of Arts and Architecture, with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design. Gardening, golf, cooking, tennis, yoga, reading and supporting all the fantastic local farms and their fare from Chester County, Pennsylvania is how she spends her free time.
Cynthia's volunteer efforts have included being a founding member of BioPhilly - established in 2015 with the philosophy of Biophilic Design, to promote, educate and engage with our community to create a tapestry of restorative natural habitat in Philadelphia, and to raise awareness around the important links between human health and the meaningful daily experience of wild and bio-diverse nature in the city.
Melissa Weed
Melissa Weed has been with BarberGale since 2000. Not only that, but she has also been working side-by-side, literally, with Cynthia since that time. Melissa has an extremely strong sense of design and artistic hierarchy, coupled with a keen ability to organize and manage a diverse workload with a sense of calm and wit. Her role at BarberGale is Art Director and Senior Designer.
Melissa is a graduate of Kutztown University, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design.
